Using the Sphero Edu AI Assistant

The Sphero Edu AI Assistant is an integrated tool in the Sphero Edu programming canvases designed to help explain your programs. It provides insights into your code and robot interactions in a clear, structured way.

Features:

The AI Assistant can explain how your program works in three styles:

  • Basic: Simple overview, optimized for younger learners.

  • Advanced: Adds technical details for users with programming experience.

  • Technical: Detailed explanation of the underlying JavaScript or Python code and how it interacts with your robot.

Supported Canvas Types:

  • Block

  • Text (JavaScript)

  • Text (Python)

Response Time:

  • Typical response: ~15 seconds

  • Complex programs: up to 30 seconds

  • Timeout: 60 seconds; you can try again if no response is received

User Data and Privacy:

The AI Assistant is designed with privacy in mind:

  • Does not collect personally identifiable information

  • Does not allow freeform prompts

  • Uses pre-written prompts with program info and connected robot type only

  • Processes data through a custom Sphero-focused knowledge base; user data is not used to train the AI

Language Support:

  • Currently, responses are only in English

  • Requests for other languages can be sent via feedback
