Troubleshooting BOLT+ Power Pack Charging Issues

This guide helps you resolve issues when your BOLT+ Power Pack is not charging one or more robots.

My Power Pack is Not Charging One Robot

Follow these steps:

  1. Check the Power Pack light:

    • Green: Power Pack is receiving power

    • Red: Power Pack has power but an issue exists

    • Off: Power Pack is not receiving power

  2. Level the robot:

    • Place BOLT+ directly on its charging cradle with the LCD screen facing up and parallel to the ground.

  3. Check the cradle seating:

    • Ensure all cradles are fully seated in the Power Pack. Press the black tab to release, then reseat until you hear a click.

    • Make sure nothing (stickers, debris) is blocking the connection underneath the cradle.

  4. Test with a different cradle:

    • Swap cradles to see if the issue follows the cradle.

    • You can also test the cradle by connecting it directly to a USB-C wall outlet to see if it charges outside the Power Pack.

If your robot still does not charge after these steps, contact Sphero Customer Support.

My Power Pack is Not Charging Any Robots

  1. Confirm Power Pack is receiving power:

    • Light should be green when powered.

    • Try a different outlet (avoid power strips).

    • Only use a BOLT+ Power Pack charger, not adapters from other models.

  2. Level all robots:

    • Place each BOLT+ on its cradle with the LCD screen facing up and parallel to the ground.

  3. Check cradle seating:

    • Ensure all cradles are fully seated. Press and reseat each until you hear a click.

    • Confirm nothing is obstructing connections underneath the cradles.

  4. Contact Support if needed:

    • If robots still do not charge, provide the following information on our support form:

      • Is the Power Pack light green?

      • Are any cradles showing blue LEDs? How many?

      • Are the fans in the Power Pack working?

      • Photos (if possible):

        • Power Pack light

        • Inside the Power Pack with cradles

        • Adapter being used
