Sphero Play App Features

Scream Drive

Scream Drive is a fun, voice-controlled way to drive your Sphero robot. Here’s how to get started:

  • Aim your Sphero Mini in the direction you want to go.

  • Use the on-screen joystick to steer your robot.

  • Use your voice or any audio source to accelerate—louder sounds make your robot move faster.

  • The speed bar on the right side of the app shows how fast your robot is going.

Golf Drive

Golf Drive is only available on smaller devices, like phones, that have a gyroscope. It is not supported on tablets or devices without a gyroscope.

Desktoy Mode

Due to parts sourcing changes from worldwide chip shortages, Desktoy Mode is no longer supported on Sphero Mini. This feature was removed to continue manufacturing the product. The toggle may still appear in Advanced Settings, but a future app update will remove it to reduce confusion.

Face Drive

Face Drive is no longer supported for any Sphero robots in the Sphero Play app due to technical constraints.
