RVR and RVR+ USB and UART Power Information

Power Supply Overview

  • The 5V power from the USB and UART ports and the main power for RVR/RVR+ come from the same 7.4V battery.

  • There is an e-fuse on the expansion port that limits the output current to 2.1A.

  • The USB and UART share the same power supply, so the combined current draw from both is limited to 2.1A.

Using USB 5V for Power Only

  • You can use the USB port to supply 5V power without communication.

  • RVR and RVR+ do not negotiate power requirements with connected devices, so drawing power without communication is safe.

UART Voltage Levels

  • The UART RX/TX lines operate at 3.3V.
