The tethered cable on the DC Motor connects to the printed circuit board (PCB) of the Bit using a JST connector.
If the cable becomes disconnected during use, you can easily reconnect it:

Align the pins on the circuit board with the slot inside the plastic connector housing.

Carefully push the connector back onto the pins until it is securely seated.
