How to Test Your IR LED Bit

The IR LED (infrared light-emitting diode) Bit emits light at wavelengths longer than visible light, similar to the IR light used in remote controls. While invisible to the naked eye, many digital cameras can detect it. You can use it to activate other Bits like the Light Sensor or Remote Trigger.

Testing Your IR LED Bit

1. Build a simple circuit:

   • Power Bit → Button Bit → IR LED Bit

2. Use a digital camera or webcam:

   • You can use your laptop’s webcam or the front-facing (selfie) camera on your phone.

3. Dim or turn off the room lights.

4. Press and hold the Button Bit.

5. Observe the camera feed:

   • If you see a light on the screen, your IR LED Bit is working correctly.

   • If no light appears, further troubleshooting may be needed.

This method provides a quick and easy way to confirm your IR LED Bit is functioning as expected.
