How to Connect and Use Your Ollie and Darkside Robots
To connect Ollie to iOS or Android devices:
-
Download the Sphero Edu app from your device’s app store.
-
Ensure Ollie is fully charged.
-
Lightly place your device on Ollie and launch the app.
-
Ollie will automatically connect.
Flashing Red Light / Firmware Issues
If Ollie is flashing red, the firmware may be corrupt. To fix this:
-
Ensure your app is up-to-date.
-
Connect to a strong, reliable WiFi network.
-
Reconnect Ollie through the app. The firmware update should begin automatically.
-
If the update does not start, ensure Ollie is fully charged and try again.
PIN / Passcode Prompt
If prompted for a PIN or passcode, you may be connecting through the Bluetooth settings instead of the app. Always connect by launching the Sphero Edu app and placing your device on Ollie.
Water Resistance
-
Ollie is splash-resistant, but it is not waterproof.
Disassembly
-
Do not disassemble Ollie.
-
Grip Tires can be replaced.
-
Only remove hubcaps with a coin or flathead screwdriver, then pop new hubcaps into place.
