Charging BOLT+ and BOLT+ Power Pack
BOLT+ uses wireless Qi charging with optimized power management, giving you extended operation and all-day battery life.
How to Charge BOLT+
-
Make sure the charging cradle has power:
-
If powered, the cradle shows a solid blue LED.
-
Connect via a charging cord and brick, or through the Power Pack.
-
-
Place BOLT+ on the cradle:
-
LCD screen facing up and parallel to the ground.
-
If charging correctly, the blue LED will flash and BOLT+ lights will turn on.
-
-
If the blue LED stays solid:
-
Adjust BOLT+ until the LED begins flashing blue.
-
-
Important:
-
Do not move the cradle or Power Pack while charging.
-
If using the Power Pack, keep the lid open to prevent robots from shifting off position.
-
✅ Fully Charged = Cradle LEDs turn solid purple.
Charging Cradle Shows a Red Light
If the cradle LED is solid red, BOLT+ is not charging. Possible causes:
-
Foreign object in the cradle (e.g., placing a SPRK+ instead of BOLT+). Remove it and place BOLT+ correctly.
-
Poor contact: The robot is tilted. The LED may flash blue, then turn red. Remove and reseat BOLT+ until the blue LED flashes.
Charging Time
A fully depleted BOLT+ battery takes up to 8 hours to fully charge.
Storing BOLT+ Robots
If not using your robots for several weeks (e.g., over holidays):
-
Charge each BOLT+ to about 50%.
-
Leave robots on their charging cradles, then unplug the cradles or Power Pack.
-
Store at room temperature.
When ready to use again:
-
Plug in the cradles or Power Pack at least 1 day before use to ensure all robots are fully charged.
